In the 1900 photograph, a fence leads across the paddock to Cape Schanck lighthouse. The tower is still the easiest point to pick out above the scrub. Down at sea level, the headland takes on a different shape. The Rose Series photographer framed Pulpit Rock from the rock platform, with the stack filling almost the whole postcard.
